Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 3, 2026

Map The Bite ("we", "our") provides a website at mapthebite.com and a Chrome browser extension that show restaurants and dishes mentioned in YouTube food videos. This policy describes what information these products handle. The short version: we do not collect, store, or sell any personal information.

Chrome extension

When you open the extension popup on a YouTube video page, the extension:

The extension does not collect your name, email address, browsing history, watch history, or any other personal information. It does not use analytics, advertising, or tracking of any kind, and it does not read any pages other than the YouTube video page you invoke it on.

Like virtually all web services, our API (hosted on Google Cloud) keeps standard technical server logs for reliability and abuse prevention. These logs are not used to identify or profile users.

Website

The mapthebite.com website does not require an account and does not collect personal information. It embeds third-party services that operate under their own privacy policies:

These services are provided by Google and are covered by the Google Privacy Policy.

Data sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent, or share any user data with third parties. We do not use data for purposes unrelated to the products' single purpose (showing restaurant locations from food videos), and we do not use data to determine creditworthiness or for lending purposes.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update this page and its effective date. Material changes to what the extension collects would also be reflected in the extension's Chrome Web Store listing.
